Get Ready for In-Season

It always seems that summer goes by so fast. We've been training all summer with our top athletes at IGNITE including guest sessions with some of our pros like "Tank" Tyler in the creek with us (check back for pics of these sessions on the site).

Though it seems like we're only about halfway through this summer, team and scholastic sports are ready to begin training for the fall season. A lot of athletes take advantage of IGNITE summer sessions, but what we find athletes need to do more is continue with our In-Season programs throughout the scholastic athletic calendar.

We know you're probably thinking that you're already training with your team, school's in and that's enough. Actually, while there are excellent school team training programs, if you're looking to be a starter and/or take your sport on as a career choice, this kind of training is simply not enough to keep you in top conditioning. This could lead to injury which could sink your career without warning.

IGNITE's In-Season programs are specifically designed to supplement your team training programs—so they don't interfere, rather augment the training you're already getting with sport and position-specific training that will keep you toned, conditioned and resistant to injury throughout the season.

Stop in and check out a session with us sometime or talk to Jim or Coy about In-Season programs. If you want to be at the top of the food chain in your sport, In-Season's where it's at!

Coy Wire Signs with Atlanta Falcons

IGNITE founder Coy Wire has recently been whisked away to Atlanta and signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Coy, linebacker, #52 who was a distinguished team captain for the Buffalo Bills, will bring his best game to Atlanta (I know—I've been photographing all the IGNITE training sessions all summer!!).

You know your training program is insanely good when it enables its founder to continue his pro career.

Jon Corto, Ignite training client recorded 7 tackles, 1 for loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jon was also moved from safety to linebacker for this game!!!

Jon Corto is getting some love on the front page of the Bills website. Here is a little bit of what they have to say about our man Corto!
-Jon Corto continues to get work at weak side linebacker with the second unit after getting work there and performing admirably in the preseason game against Pittsburgh. He played linebacker in college at Sacred Heart before being transitioned to safety.
“Size wise we thought he fit the safety position more and just all loved his temperament since we’ve been introduced to him,” said Jauron of the former rookie free agent. “Perry (Fewell) probably wanted to move him earlier. When we got all the injuries we then said we’ve got to move him. There’s a guy that’s played the position, we’re really low on linebackers going into that game, and Perry talked to Jon and Jon was all for it. He just wants to play. He just wants a chance to play and he really did a good job. So it worked out and we’ll see where it goes.”
Jauron thought he played pretty well as Corto was a factor in the run front. The 2007 practice squad player had a tackle for loss in the game. There appears to be at least a chance that Corto could make a similar transition to that of Coy Wire. Whether he’ll turn into as successful a venture as Wire did remains to be seen. But he is getting reps ahead of Marcus Buggs and Blake Costanzo.-

Check out this comment a fan left regarding Jon Corto and John McCargo.
"The Corto hometown story is the best thing to happen to buffalo since the 1901 Pan Am Games. This kid is a man beast and needs to start this season. Not many players lift logs in water... Rocky-style and underdog, love it. With heart like this out of Corto and McCargo, I think the NFL will get a wake up call when the Bills plow through teams and make their first playoff run since the music-city miracle."

Congratulations to our professional clients! Coy Wire, John McCargo, Jon Corto and Tank Tyler all made the 53 man roster!!!! Tank will be the starting Defensive Tackle on Sunday when the Chiefs open up their season.

Bryton Barr

Congratulations to Bryton Barr. Bryton made the Varsity football team as a freshman and saw a lot of playing time at linebacker Friday night against Hershey. Bryton played over half of the game and recorded 10+ tackles! Bryton had 5 tackles in his first game against Carlisle.

Corto and the Buffalo Bills against the Detroit Lions

Corto had a solid game on special teams today against the Detroit Lions. He had a key block that sprung Roscoe Parrish for a touchdown on a punt return. Jon also had a forced fumble that was recovered by the Bills.

Coy Wire - Starting Linebacker!

Brooks Black has a great game against New Oxford

Brooks Black had an excellent game against New Oxford on Thursday. In the game Brooks had 10 tackles and a forced fumble from his defensive tackle position. In addition to this he had a punt block on special teams. Great job Brooks keep up the good work.

Adrienne Phillips

Congratulations to Adrienne Phillps for verbally committing to Townson University. Adrienne will be receiving a scholarship to swim the Backstroke, 500 Free, the 200 IM and possibly some other events. Adrienne does her strength training, agility training, core training and nutritional counseling at IGNITE and she swims for the WSY under Coach Mike Gobrecht. Adrienne is one of IGNITE's hardest working athletes!!!! CONGRATULATIONS ADRIENNE!!!!
